Jakov Medić has joined Norwich City from Eredivisie side Ajax.
Born in the Croatian capital of Zagreb, Medić began his football journey in the youth teams at both NK Kustošija and NK HAŠK, before spells with NK Hrvatski Dragovoljac and NK Zagreb.
He joined NK Istra 1961 and made his senior debut in the Prva HNL against Slaven Belupo. Further spells across Croatia followed, with stints at NK Lučko and NK Vinogradar.
In the summer of 2018, the 26-year-old made the move to Germany as he signed for FC Nürnberg, featuring for their reserve side in the Regionalliga.
Medić then moved to SV Wehen Wiesbaden, initially on loan, featuring in both the 3. Liga and 2. Bundesliga for the club and later joined on a permanent basis.
He was on the move once again in June 2021, moving across Germany to sign for FC. St Pauli. The Croatian youth international spent just over two years at the Millerntor-Stadion, featuring in 60 2. Bundesliga games.
After two years in Hamburg, Medić signed for Ajax in August 2023. He marked his debut for the club with a goal against Heracles Almelo.
The 26-year-old made six appearances in the Eredivisie as well as three in the UEFA Europa League in his debut season. He spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan, returning to Germany with VfL Bochum.
Medić made 23 appearances in the Bundesliga as Bochum finished 18th in the German top flight.
