José Córdoba has made the switch to Norwich City from Bulgarian side Levski Sofia, and we've taken a look at his career up until this point.
Born in Panama City, Córdoba began his footballing journey with Independiente de La Chorrera of the Liga Panameña de Fútbol.
He progressed through the system at the club and went on to make 12 league appearances, before making the move to Europe to sign for Celta Vigo.
The defender mostly featured for the Celta B side, before departing and eventually joining Bulgarian side Etar Veliko Tarnovo.
Córdoba made 10 appearances in the top flight for Etar, but the club were relegated to the second tier. He stayed the following season and made eight appearances in the Bulgarian Second League.
The 23-year-old then moved to Levski Sofia on an original loan spell, before making the move to the Bulgarian capital on a permanent basis.
He was part of the Levski Sofia side that were winners of the Bulgarian Cup in the 2021/22 season, beating CSKA Sofia in the final.
During the 2023/24 season, Córdoba made 25 appearances for Levski Sofia in the efbet League and was part of the side that finished fourth.
Internationally, he made his Panama debut in March 2022 as he played 90 minutes in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification game against Canada.
He is set to feature for Thomas Christiansen's side in the upcoming Copa América, where Panama face Uruguay, Bolivia and the United States.
Following the tournament, the defender will join up with new head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup and the Norwich squad ahead of the 2024/25 season.
