Carrow Road played host to the Norwich City Fan Social Club's mental health awareness evening on Thursday, hosted by Darren Eadie.

The event featured special guest speakers in first-team players Onel Hernández and George Long, as well as former member of parliament and passionate mental health advocate Sir Norman Lamb.

In front of an audience of over 200 supporters and mental health charity workers, the trio spoke honestly about a range of challenging life experiences in sport and being mental health aware.

Before Eadie got the Q&A underway, those in attendance were able to mix with and speak to 22 different mental health groups, including MIND, Samaritans, TimeNorfolk and the Community Sports Foundation. The full list of organisations can be found here.

A break was followed by two new panelists; Professor Stephen Bazire MBE and GP Dr Ardyn Ross; whose experience in mental health services gave valuble insights and education around breaking the stigma.

The evening closed with a raffle that managed to raise over £300 for the Community Sports Foundation.

The Fan Social Club have now hosted six of these events and will proudly continue to do so every year.
