Norwich City academy player Finley Welch has signed new contract, keeping him at the club until 2026, with an option for a further year.
Signing his new deal, Welch said: "I'm so happy. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to sign the second pro contract.
"I owe a massive thank you to the staff, players, and to my family and friends for helping me get to this point. I can't wait to continue my journey here and continue with the pathway."
Welch has been a regular for Alan Neilson's Under-21s side so far this season, and he is looking to progress in the Premier League 2.
"As a team, I'd say we had a tough start. The losses helped us bond together as a team, and that's helped us have a more positive run.
"On an individual note, I think it's gone well. I've been playing in a couple of positions, which has helped me extend my knowledge of the game. That's the main thing really, to develop."
The 19-year-old has been involved in first-team training this season, and was named on the bench for the Canaries' trip to Bristol City in the Carabao Cup.
"Speechless, it was an amazing experience. I was training with the first-team, and Hughesy called me over and next thing I know, I'm in the squad. I just couldn't believe it, I was trying to hide my emotions.
"I just couldn't stop smiling, it all got to me. Next thing, I'm on the plane and then on the bench. The whole experience was crazy. All the lads were so welcoming, and the manager was good to me as well. I appreciated the opportunity.
"It's so good for my development. They're all another level, technically and physically good. They have a great mentality and give 100% every day, so it's good to be in an environment like that."
Welch also highlighted the pathway from academy into the first-team, as well as his goals for the rest of the season and moving forward.
"You see the likes of Jon \[Rowe\], Liam \[Gibbs\], Tony \[Springett\], and Jaden \[Warner\] all getting in and around the first-team and that shows that there's a pathway here and it's important.
"I want to keep developing, that's the main focus. It would be a dream of mine to make my debut at Carrow Road in front of all the fans. Anywhere, but Carrow Road would be special."
