Kellen Fisher has been named the Etty Smith Young Player of the Season for 2024/25.

Kellen Fisher has been named the Etty Smith Young Player of the Season for 2024/25.

The award, named after the mother of honorary lifetime president Delia Smith, is awarded to the season's outstanding male Norwich City player under the age of 21.

It has been a breakout year for the young defender who has appeared in 38 of City's 45 Sky Bet Championship games in his second season with the Canaries after joining in 2023 from non-league Bromley.

Fisher has featured eight times for England's Under-20 side since June and was handed a first call-up to the Under-21 squad when team-mate Callum Doyle withdrew during the November international break.

In addition to this award, Fisher also finished second behind Josh Sargent in the voting for the overall Anglian Home Improvements Player of the Season, beating Borja Sainz into third place.

Speaking to canaries.co.uk, he said: "It means so much to me. I know there's a lot more meaning behind the award with it being named after Delia's mother; it makes it that little bit more special.

"It's credit to the coaching staff that have helped me get there, and the players and the fans that have pushed me on even more to better myself to try and play a lot more week in, week out."

Fisher will be officially presented with the trophy by Delia Smith and Michael Wynn Jones before Saturday's fixture against Cardiff City.
