Gabriel Sara described his move from São Paulo to Norwich City as an honour as he became the first Brazilian player to sign for the Canaries on Friday.

canaries.co.uk: Gabriel, welcome to Norwich City. How do you feel to be here?
GS: I feel very happy and anxious to see what I can do on the pitch.
canaries.co.uk: You’re the first Brazilian-born player to sign for Norwich. Does that make it extra special?
GS: It’s an honour and I’ve been very welcomed here. I hope to contribute to the club in the same way the club has contributed to my life.
canaries.co.uk: What was it about this club that made you want to choose Norwich as the next step in your career?
GS: It was always a dream for me to leave Brazil and travel to a different country to play in the best footballing country, which I consider to be England.
canaries.co.uk: Today has been your first day in Norwich. What are your impressions of the facilities here at the training ground?
GS: It’s magnificent. I’ve never seen anything like it here, so I’m just anxious to get going.
canaries.co.uk: Can you tell us more about the type of player you are, for those who haven’t watched you before?
GS: I’m quite an intense player. I fight for the team and, when the opportunity arises, I go for goal.
canaries.co.uk: It’s a fresh challenge for you now, but how do you reflect on your time in Sao Paulo?
GS: Well I was at São Paulo for nine to ten years, so I’ve practically been there for my whole life and now I’m ready for new challenges and new goals.
canaries.co.uk: Lastly, how much are you looking forward to playing at Carrow Road in front of the Norwich fans for the first time?
GS: I’m really excited for it and I’m hoping to do it as quickly as possible.
