Norwich City recently welcomed a number of participants for a Norfolk Youth Pledge session, showcasing work inspiration, experience or employment opportunities to 16-24 year olds in the region.
The participants involved were part of a talk from Alan Webb and Zoe Rogers from the club's Human Resources, talking about opportunities available at the club, both matchday and non-matchday, casual and contracted staff, apprenticeships, all the various departments and roles within, that enable the club to function.
They both spoke about their pathways into the club, with Alan progressing into his role from a casual contract, and how Zoe progressed into her full-time role after her apprenticeship.
Head of operations and projects Greg Pillinger also spoke about governance, and the differences between the EFL and PL and main income streams into the club.
Following the talk, they had a guided tour of the stadium, showcasing many areas in and outside of the stadium where potential opportunities could arise.
Tom Adams, project manager - Department for Work and Pensions, says these sessions are very important for those involved: "It's really important for me to bring these guys to find out more about Norwich City, in terms of work experience, job vacancies, and apprenticeships.
"It's great that the club gets involved in the community like this, and gives exposure to the people involved as well.
"It's also a learning curve for them, as they get to see what kind of opportunities are available to them in and around the club.
"Even if it's not something they're considering now, it's definitely something that they'll have in the back of their minds for the future."
