Norwich City and Stephen Fry opened the doors to over 400 people at Carrow Road's brand new pub, The Lion and Castle on Friday, July 21.
Canaries legends Grant Holt and Darren Eadie were in attendance, with the latter our host for the event, who introduced Mr Fry on stage to cut the ribbon and officially declare the sports bar open.
The bar was part of an extensive refurbishment project in the Russell Allison Lounge in the Lower Barclay, with two big screens now in place to showcase Sky Sports events and two new feature beer walls for customers to use as a self-serve function.
Once the 2023/24 season is underway, The Lion and Castle will be open pre-match to all Lower Barclay supporters and then open to all supporters once the stadium bowl has cleared post-match.
For food and drink options, the pub will serve a wide range of traditional fan favourites, including draught craft beers as part of our exciting new beer wall.
With a capacity of over 600, this space will also be available to hire for external events with Delia’s Canary Catering.
To continue holding the memory of long-serving groundsman Russell Allison, a plaque was put in place in his memory next to the mural of Barclay End highlights.
