The club have now announced the appointment of Liam Manning as head coach, joining the Canaries from fellow Championship side Bristol City.
Having been born and raised in Norwich, Manning had a season ticket for the Canaries with his family as a youngster.
To this day, his family remain living in and around Norfolk, residing on the North Norfolk coast.
Manning joined the Norwich City academy at age 14, where he played for the youth team until 2002. He then made the switch to the Ipswich youth set-up, rising into professional football by 2004.
He began his senior playing career in non-league with Bishop's Stortford, Long Melton, Woodbridge Town and Leiston until 2005, when he then moved to Iceland to play for third division side Selfoss.
On his return to England, Manning concluded his playing career with spells at Wroxham, Melton St Audrey and Ipswich Wanderers, also making brief returns to his former teams Woodbridge and Leiston.
He then joined Ipswich as an academy coach before beginning his managerial journey.
Manning took on the head coach role with West Ham's Under-23s in 2015, having been assistant coach the season before with the Under-21s side.
He remained with the Hammers for four seasons, achieving a PL2 play-off position in most campaigns.
Manning then took the leap overseas in 2019, joining New York City FC as director of coaching and later academy director.
He was named head coach of Belgian outfit Lommel SK in June 2020, taking his side from bottom of the table to a third-place finish.
In August 2021, Manning made the move over to the EFL, joining League One side MK Dons and guiding them to a third-place finish, narrowly missing out on automatic promotion to the Championship.
Before being relieved of his duties by the club in December 2022, Manning picked up two EFL League One Manager of the Month awards in his first season in charge.
After a three-month break from coaching, Oxford United came calling and selected Manning as their head coach in March 2023.
He quickly became a big success with the U's, claiming another EFL League One Manager of the Month award for an impressive run of four wins from five matches.
His success with United hadn't gone unnoticed, sparking interest from Championship club Bristol City.
Manning took up the role of head coach with the Robins in November 2023, leaving Oxford in second place in League One, ultimately playing his part in their eventual promotion to the Championship at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
He enjoyed a season and a half in the West Country that included an unforgettable FA Cup third round victory over Premier League side West Ham United, forcing them to a replay and eventual win at Ashton Gate.
They nearly repeated that feat in the fourth round with Nottingham Forest, the replay ending in a penalty shootout at the City Ground where Forest snatched the win, 5-3 on penalties.
Manning arrives at the Canaries having guided the Robins to a sixth-place finish at the conclusion of the 2024/25 season, the club reaching the Championship play-offs for the first time in 17 years.
