Defender Ben Gibson impressed in Norwich City's 1-0 win at Swansea.com Stadium, as the squad played their first game after the World Cup break.
The 29-year-old contributed to. clean sheet and commended his teammates for their 'character' in clinching the three points.
"I think it was a good performance from the boys in terms of character, resilience, all the things in terms of 'off the ball' that you want to see. Good defensive display as a team, to a man the lads worked hard and showed great togetherness and fight," Gibson said.
"We want to have more possession, we want to be more dominant in games but sometimes it's difficult and when you're without that, you've got to find a way to win.
The central defensive duo of Gibson and Grant Hanley were called upon more than once to command the penalty area aerially.
And one moment in particular stood out, Gibson preventing a certain goal in the 73rd minute with a timely intervention in a dangerous area.
"With me on my right foot there, I didn't want to put it into the roof of my net. They're dangerous balls when they're getting fizzed across the box but that was just one of many and the lads found a way to keep the ball out of our net today.
"We've had a long break. We've had a long time to think about that Middlesbrough game which was really frustrating. We have come back and got a good start and a clean sheet and we've got to take that on now."
