Norwich City Under-18s coach Greg Crane says his side are excited for a return to league action, with the visit of Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Under-18s are back in Under-18 Premier League South action for the first time since the start of October, and currently sit in ninth place in the league.
In their last outing, the Canaries were beaten 3-2 by Manchester City in the Premier League Cup, conceding a winner in the 90th minute.
"We're excited, it's been a couple of weeks since our last game," he says. "We had last weekend off, so that was a really good break for the boys. And that's what they need to get themselves ready for a busy Christmas period.
"I think we've got six games coming up, with some Under-17s games included, and we kick off with Crystal Palace on Saturday. I couldn't think of a better game to have, always have good teams, very athletic, and very well coached. It's another game that the boys are looking forward to sticking their teeth into.
"I've watched Palace a lot before, and they're obviously very well coached and well organised. They've shown that in previous seasons they're a very good side. But I think our lads like those tests, they like to put themselves up against teams like that. Hopefully it's another chance for the boys to showcase themselves, and impose themselves on the opposition.
"It's been an interesting season so far, we've only played five league games. We've had a lot of cup games, and a few games called off. That's why we've got a busy period between now and Christmas.
"The league doesn't tell you everything, though. If I've got players playing in the Under-21s, that's success. If I've got players getting contracts, then that's success. We want them to keep on doing well.
"In our last game, we went toe-to-toe with Manchester City. It was only in the 90th minute where City were on top. In terms of the effort and character, I'm really proud of the way the lads played.
"I hope they continue that mentality into every game, so they'll bounce back. They were upset, obviously, but that's what you what them to feel after a defeat. But I tell them not to dwell on it for too long, tomorrow's a new day and you go again."
