Norwich City captain Grant Hanley scored his side's goal in the 1-1 draw with Reading in the Sky Bet Championship.
It was later cancelled out by an equaliser from Jeff Hendrick but Hanley was positive in his assessment of the game.
"I think we need to remember that it was always going to be a difficult game. Coming here and getting a point against a team that are up near the top of the table and in-form is not a bad result," the Scotland international said.
"They showed us a lot of respect in terms of possession. We would probably say it was the opposite to Saturday where we struggled in the build-up but were dangerous when we got into their half. But, it felt like tonight we were quite comfortable with the ball at the back but when we got into the final third, that's where we struggled.
"Overall, we're disappointed not to come away with three points, especially being in front but it's not the worst result in the world and we've got another chance on Saturday to back it up at home."
With Norwich now level on points with Sheffield United at the top of the table, albeit still in second on goal difference, attention now turns to the visit of Preston North End to Carrow Road on Saturday.
"Our point average is good, that's where you need to be to go up automatically. It's not the end of the world coming to Reading and getting a draw but we know what we need to be better at and we'll look to improve it."
