Norwich City Academy midfielder Harry Brooke is setting his sights on establishing himself in the under-23s set-up after signing a new contract with the club.
Harry has captained the under-18s and has made several appearances for the under-23s already, since his move to Norwich City from Millwall. However, having signed his second professional contract, he wants to continue pushing forward.
“I’m delighted to have signed a new contract,” he told canaries.co.uk. “It shows that the club has faith in me and in my abilities as a player. I’m really looking forward to repaying their faith in me with the football I produce.
“I want to solidify my position in the under-23s. I don’t feel like I've done that yet. In six months’ time I want to be training in and around the first team. I feel like that’s achievable if I keep working hard and pushing myself to improve every day.”
Coming towards the end of a season disrupted by injuries, Harry also says he is keen to repay the club’s support with consistent fitness and high-quality performances moving forward.
“This season has been very stop/start for me unfortunately,” he said. “I’ve had quite a few injuries and haven't been able to have a good run of games. When I’ve had a setback, I always work hard to recover quickly. I’m really excited for next season. I can't wait to get a good run of games going.”
Harry also spoke highly of the coaching he receives at the Lotus Training Centre.
“The coaching is so good here and everything is personally tailored to you. They look at your stats and make it very specific to you. You know you can text them or just go and speak to them, it's a very family-oriented atmosphere.
“The coaches always want to push you on and keep you going. They always want 100%, which is really good for me personally because they keep pushing me to break barriers and take me to a new level.”
