Norwich City were beaten 2-1 away to Hull City on Saturday, despite a late flurry of chances for the Canaries.
Norwich looked lively early on, Todd Cantwell having a corner parried onto the roof of the net by Matt Ingram, and another headed into the Hull keeper's gloves by Grant Hanley.
Allahyar had the hosts' first effort of the game, cutting in from the right before firing high and wide.
At the other end, Cantwell found Teemu Pukki, who shifted the ball onto his right foot inside the penalty area and shot low towards the bottom left. It was too soft to trouble Ingram.
Marcelino Núñez pressed high to win the ball in the final third and saw his effort saved before the rebound fell to Pukki, who had a shot deflected over.
The Canaries almost took the lead in the eighth minute, Pukki's dangerous cross just evading Kieran Dowell with the goal at his mercy.
Cantwell shot straight at Ingram, as did Pukki when he was found with a ball over the top by Núñez.
Benjamin Tetteh blazed a volley over the bar for Hull, before Dowell broke through and saw his attempted lob caught.
Ozan Tufan's effort from long range was dipping but just flew over the crossbar, and both sides then took to the sidelines for a drinks break.
After Cantwell shot over the bar from distance in the 40th minute, Hull took the lead. Having worked the ball into Norwich's penalty area, Max Aarons went to clear the danger, but it struck Andrew Omobamidele and fell kindly for Óscar Estupiñán to give the home side the lead.
Pukki forced a good save from Ingram on the brink of half-time, but Norwich went into the interval behind.
Hanley headed a Cantwell corner over early in the second half, before Dean Smith made his first two changes of the afternoon, with Liam Gibbs and Josh Sargent coming on for Jacob Sørensen and Milot Rashica.
Tetteh won a corner with a shot from distance deflecting off of Hanley in the 60th minute before Estupiñán scored his second goal of the game, following a couple of saves from Tim Krul.
Smith then made another two changes, Aaron Ramsey and Onel Hernández coming on for Cantwell and Dowell.
Gibbs won a corner, but it was Sargent winning a free-kick on the edge of the area that led to Norwich's goal.
Núñez stepped up to bend the set-piece beautifully into the top right corner of the goal.
Norwich came close to an equaliser when Max Aarons put the ball into a dangerous area across the face of goal, but Ramsey shot over the bar from close range.
Hanley missed the target from a Núñez cross and Ramsey was denied by a goal line clearance late on.
Seven minutes were added on and Núñez had another free-kick saved by Ingram, Hull holding on for three points.
