Adam Idah scored the all-important winning goal as Norwich City came from 2-1 down to beat Cardiff City 3-2 in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Yellows had led in the first half through Christian Fassnacht before the hosts took over control before half-time, Josh Bowler and Callum Robinson netting.

There was drama in the final 10 minutes though as a Ryan Wintle own goal was followed by Idah's effort, ending the Canaries' winless run.

David Wagner made four changes from the team that had been beaten 3-1 by Blackburn Rovers on Sunday last weekend.

Danny Batth, Kellen Fisher and Przemysław Płacheta all came in to the back four where Jaden Warner kept his spot.

Fassnacht returned to the starting line-up too, in place of Onel Hernández.

Both sides had early attempts from distance with George Long denying Robinson before Gabriel Sara had his shot deflected off-target.

The Brazilian then forced a save from Jak Alnwick after a clever run and pass from Hwang Ui-Jo.

The resulting corner saw the opening goal as Kenny McLean flicked on the delivery to where birthday boy Fassnacht was waiting to tap in.

Long was again called into action, this time to deny Bowler on the half-hour mark, and the 'keeper got down well to make the stop.

Hwang could have then doubled the lead but couldn't guide Płacheta's pull-back on target.

Cardiff finished the half strongly, striking twice to get in front. The first came from Bowler, he slotted home at the back post before Robinson nodded in a second just four minutes later.

The Canaries had a couple of attempts to equalise early in the second half, Fassnacht's blocked strike the closest they came.

Long was called upon once again, this time getting out to deny Karlan Grant.

Alnwick was then forced into three saves in 90 seconds, first denying Marcelino Núñez before both Batth and Jonathan Rowe tested the Cardiff 'keeper.

However, a quickfire double from Norwich then turned the game on its head. Wintle diverted Fassnacht's cross into his own goal before Idah smashed home a rebound to nudge in front.

A huge defensive effort was needed to see it out but Norwich were able to come away from south Wales with the points.
