Both Idah and Shane Duffy started for John O'Shea's side in the friendly, with the centre-back playing the first half in Dublin.

Idah opened the scoring, heading in from Will Smallbone's cross, and Ireland secured the win via Troy Parrott's late winner.

Earlier in the week, Kenny McLean and Grant Hanley started for Scotland as they kicked off their preparations for the European Championships with a 2-0 win over Gibraltar.

Steve Clarke's side face Finland on Friday evening, before kicking off the tournament against hosts Germany.
