Adam Idah played an hour of Republic of Ireland's victory over Luxembourg on Sunday evening, as the Boys In Green ended their World Cup qualifying campaign on a positive note.
Ireland cruised to a 3-0 victory over Luxembourg to end Group A with nine points and a third-place finish.
A Luxembourg side featuring Danel Sinani, currently on loan from City at Huddersfield Town, almost took the lead just before the hour mark when the aforementioned slotted home from close range, only for VAR to rule he had pushed Brighton's Shane Duffy in the build-up.
Ireland took advantage and goals from Duffy, Chiedozie Ogbene (Rotherham United) and Callum Robinson (West Bromwich Albion) saw them to victory.
Idah was substituted on 62 minutes, and his teammate Andrew Omobamidele came off the bench for a late cameo appearance after missing their goalless draw against Portugal on Friday through injury.
Sinani played the full game for Luxembourg, as they finished in fourth place, level on points with Ireland.
Elsewhere, more City players came up against each other in Athens where Dimitris Giannoulis and Christos Tzolis's Greece drew 1-1 with Milot Rashica's Kosovo.
With both sides having failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, this game was essentially a dead rubber and the two teams could not be separated on the night.
Olympiakos' Georgios Masouras scored the opening goal for Greece, but Napoli's Amir Rrahmani equalised for Kosovo with 15 minutes left.
Rashica played 80 minutes for Kosovo, with Tzolis coming on as a second-half substitute for Greece - Giannoulis was an unused substitute.
