Oscar Schwartau was on the scoresheet for Denmark Under-19s in their 2-0 win over Iceland as they began UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification with a win.
The 18-year-old opened the scoring at the Bocskai Stadion in Hungary, before an own goal from Iceland goalkeeper Jón Sölvi Símonarson doubled the Danes' advantage.
Schwartau and Denmark also play against Austria and Hungary in their group as they look to seal qualification to the tournament in Romania in June.
Similarly, Elliot Myles started for Wales as they began their own qualification against England in Bangor. Wales will also play against Portugal and Turkey for a place at the main tournament in the summer.
Anis Ben Slimane and Tunisia were 1-0 winners over Liberia as they extended their gap at the top of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying group to five points.
Slimane started the game at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville, Liberia and played 89 minutes before being replaced by Akhmat Grozny defender Nader Ghandri.
Academy defender Vatan Ozcan was also in action on Wednesday, playing the entirety of Turkey Under-17s' 3-2 defeat to Switzerland in UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifying.
