Norwich City forward Danel Sinani hit a double as Luxembourg beat Lithuania on Saturday.

Sinani opened the scoring just before half-time, playing a quick one-two on the edge of the box before firing a left foot shot into the top corner of the net.

He then doubled Luxembourg’s league on the counter, by skilfully controlling a low cross into the box and hitting a left foot shot in off the post.

The victory gets Luxembourg’s Nations League campaign, in League C Group 1, off to a good start. They are level on points with Turkey ahead of fixtures away at Faroe Islands (June 7), home to Turkey (June 11) and home to Faroe Islands (June 14).

Pukki netted in first-half injury time, after a VAR review had given the hosts a penalty following a handball in the box. However, it was not enough for victory as Smail Prevljak scored an equaliser in second-half stoppage time.

Finland, in League B Group 3 of the Nations League, have to play a home game against Montengro (June 7), before travelling Romania (June 11) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (June 14).
