The Ireland international made his sixth cap for his country on the night, playing 63 minutes under the lights at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

Adam Idah was left out of the squad earlier in the day.

Stephen Kenny's side went ahead through Callum O'Dowda, shortly followed by a second from Evan Ferguson. After the half-hour mark, the visitors took 15 minutes to get back into the game, making it 2-2 on the brink of half-time. Chiedozie Ogbene scored the winner for the boys in green 25 minutes from time.

The Republic of Ireland are back in action on Monday, March 27, against France for a Euro 2024 qualifier.
