Vacancy: Academy Performance Analyst

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced candidate to join the Academy Coaching department on a casual basis at Norwich City Football Club in the role of Pre Academy Coach.

Employment: Full time - permanent

Salary: Competitive plus company benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week, as and when required. The job involves working unsociable hours including weekends.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and highly motivated candidate to join the Academy analysis department at Norwich City Football Club in the role of Academy performance analyst within the Professional Development Phase. The ideal candidate will be committed and hard-working, with a wealth of enthusiasm and knowledge alongside effective communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will work closely with the lead Academy analyst and head of performance analysis to ensure all performance analysis services within the Academy run efficiently for players, coaches, and all staff.

Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Accountable for the delivery and development of performance analysis services within the Professional Development Phase; this may include training analysis, pre-match preparations and post-match feedback.
  • To capture and code Academy training and matches.
  • Observe team and individual performance and give detailed developmental points.
  • Provide individual video and statistical feedback on Academy players in line with club philosophy.
  • Management of games library, online video sharing platform and data integration.
  • To establish and develop effective working relationships with the Academy analysis, coaching and multidisciplinary staff.
  • To utilise effective time management skills to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • To contribute to an elite learning environment in which players and staff are expected to demonstrate values expected from a Norwich City employee.
  • To maintain Norwich City Football Club’s Safeguarding (Child Protection), Health, Safety and Equal Opportunity procedures and practice.
  • To act in a manner that supports the club’s vision of striving to be an established Premier League Club driven by our proud, passionate football community.

Essential

  • BSc/BA in Sports Science/Performance Analysis or industry equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years working in elite football.
  • Experience of working in a professional football academy setting with young elite athletes.
  • Knowledge and expertise of industry standard performance analysis software’s such as; SBG (Focus and MatchTracker), Hudl SportsCode, Coach Paint, and Wyscout.
  • FA Level 1 or equivalent.

Desirable

  • MSc/MRes in Performance Analysis or industry equivalent.
  • FA Level 2 or equivalent.
