For part two of the Scotland pre-season double header, Dean Smith fielded eleven fresh legs to start against Hibernian this afternoon.
Three of today’s back four have made their way through the ranks of the Norwich City Academy, including centre-back Jonathan Tomkinson.
Last year’s under 23s captain said: "It was a good test, obviously one nil is very narrow and shows how little details can cost us games but a great final test going into the season.
"It was nice to play with some of the other 23s and it was a good experience for all of us and it teaches us a lot of lessons. It was a valuable experience we will take forward with us."
Jonathan Tomkinson was called up to the first team during the end of last season, taking a regular place on the bench for the final few games.
"There’s a lot of togetherness in this group and I love it. I love the competition because you’re playing for your shirt every day.
"I’m taking all the lessons I learn forward with me and trying to become a better player every day, so I’m grateful to share the pitch with the first team."
City took three wins, a draw and two narrow defeats and four wins from pre-season, whilst out in Germany, France and the UK.
"There was a lot of positive results from pre-season, obviously we had two losses here, which keep us humble. I like to say lessons not losses.
"It was also great to see so many fans here as it’s a pretty big journey to make, so it's nice that we had all that support this weekend."
