Josh Sargent features for USA as they go up to third in qualifying group

Josh Sargent started for the USA in their World Cup qualifying match against Honduras.

The match in the Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula kicked off at 3.30am GMT and saw the home side take a shock lead through Brayan Moya an advantage they held at half-time.

That saw USA head coach Gregg Berhalter make three changes at the break including replacing Josh Sargent with Brenden Aaronson.

The visitors then fought back in the second half to win 4-1, thanks to goals from Antonee Robinson, Ricardo Pepi, Aaronson and Sebastain Lletget.

The USA now sit third in the CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football) World Cup qualifying group, level on points with Canada in second and Panama in fourth. The top three qualify automatically for the tournament in Qatar.
