A brace from Josh Sargent saw the Canaries take three points from Millwall tonight, in the second league victory of the week.
Sargent netted his third goal in two games and spoke to canaries.co.uk following the game. “I’m very happy with the week, two great results for us and two great games with goals from me, so I’m feeling pretty great right now.
“I think any striker would tell you it feels good when you’re scoring goals, so I’m full of confidence right now.
“It feels good to be playing striker again and I’ve definitely taken my opportunity when I’ve been given it and hopefully I can keep scoring goals.”
The first half remained goalless, as City struggled to break down Millwall’s defences and capitalise on the chances given.
“In the first half, we were getting up and around the box, but we were taking shots from distance and we weren’t creating really good chances.
“We were told not to get frustrated, keep working it out and be more patient and we did that then got more goals.”
Sargent came close to a hattrick just minutes after his second, when he closed down Millwall's stopper in the box and his resulting block rolled just wide of the post.
Sargent said on the chance: “I naturally press the goalkeeper, it’s something I have inside of me. I’m hungry for the ball, so I like pressing.”
“Huge credit tonight as well to Dowell and Nunez, they have great vision with the ball and put me in great positions to be able to finish them.”
City’s next game sees a return of the Cherries to Carrow road in the Carabao Cup, where the American scored his first goals for the club.
“We’re pouring emphasis on recovery right now, but we have a lot of games, so a lot of opportunities and a lot of chances to get more goals. I remember the last game against Bournemouth well, I’m looking forward to it.”
