Josh Sargent has been crowned Norwich City’s Player of the Month for August.

The USA international striker registered four goals over the course of the month, helping City to a run of four consecutive league victories.

He opened the scoring in 2-1 home victory over Huddersfield Town, before three days later bagging a brace in a 2-0 win over Millwall at Carrow Road.

The 22-year-old was once again the match-winner in City’s game away at Sunderland, converting Aaron Ramsey’s cross late on in a 1-0 victory.

Speaking to canaries.co.uk, Sargent said: “It’s a nice moment for me, but it means more for the team to be winning games.

“We had a bit of a slow start but have now managed to pick up a few results. We know there is more to come from the squad.

“I’m happy to have scored a few goals and I’d like to thank the fans for voting for me. Their support means a lot.”

Sargent claims the award after topping a fan vote. Marcelino Núñez came in second place, with Andrew Omobamidele third.
