Josh Sargent's first strike for Norwich City has been nominated for the Premier League Budweiser Goal of the Month award for January 2022.
The USA international showed brilliant skill and improvisation to produce a first-time scorpion kick to send Teemu Pukki's low cross crashing in off the underside of the crossbar in Norwich City's 3-0 win over Watford on January 21.
It was the opening goal in a crucial game at the bottom of the table that helped the Canaries to a 3-0 victory over the Hornets, with Sargent adding a second goal before Adam Idah's cross was diverted into his own net by Juraj Kucka.
Sargent, renowned for his hard work and energetic performances since joining the club from Werder Bremen in the summer, is up against the following players for the award: Manuel Lanzini (West Ham United), Alexis Mac Allister (Brighton & Hove Albion), Mateo Kovačić (Chelsea), Richarlison (Everton), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton), Kyle Walker-Peters (Southampton) and Hakim Ziyech (Chelsea).
It is a fan-voted award and you can vote for Josh's goal here.
Voting is now open and it closes at 12pm on Monday, January 31.
The winner will be announced at 1pm on Friday, February 4.
