Abu Kamara netted a late winner for City as they came from one down to beat Burnley in the dying seconds of tonight’s Premier League 2 Division 2 match at the Lotus Training Ground Centre.
City went one down at 15 minutes after they failed to clear a cross into the box and Joe McGlynn was able to tap home for the visitors.
Norwich managed to pull one back late into the second half after Saxon Earley was fouled in the box and the canries earnt themselves a penalty. Kamara stepped up to the spot and converted with ten minutes to go. He then bagged himself a brace in the 93rd minute to seal all three points.
Norwich had made three changes from the previous Premier League 2 match at some to QPR, earlier this week. Into the side came Dylan Berry, Christoph Zimmermann and Saxon Earley.
Burnley started the game strong, pressing deep into the City half and unnerving the City backline.
Springett and Clarke were the only two who managed shots in this period but neither tested Burnley keeper Sam Walker.
City struggled to get out of their own half for the first 15 minutes, with Burnley holding most of the possession.
Burnley finally capitalised on their hold they had over Norwich, as the ball was crossed in from the left wing and after a scramble, was picked up by Joe McGlynn and tapped into the back of the net.
Burnley continued to hold City off and won themselves a free kick from 30 yards out after a foul from Tony Springett.
The Clarets captain stepped up and Berry was forced to tip the shot behind for a corner.
Christoph Zimmermann looked to get in on the action going forward as he managed a long run down the wing and won the Yellows a corner. Tomkinson managed to get on the end of it but his header went just high.
City then started to look more dangerous going forward in the final 10 minutes of the first half but couldn’t finish the job in the final third.
In the second half, Burnley came out looking keen to extend their league, as they caught Norwich out on two occasions deep in their own half. They managed a couple of shots towards goal but nothing to test Berry too much.
City then began their domination in the midfield, as Josh Giurgi made a brilliant interception on the halfway line, sweeping through the midfield and getting a ball to Kamara who then lost possession.
Springett, Kamara and Clarke an unstoppable trio as the three of them were formidable in their positions, forcing the ball deep into the city half.
In the 80th minute, City had frustrated Burnley to the max, earning themselves a penalty as Saxon Earley was fouled in the box.
Kamara stepped up to take and converted from the spot, sending Sam Walker the wrong way.
There was some commotion between both sides after the penalty, with substitute Jaden Warner and Dara Costelloe picking up yellow cards.
For the final ten minutes, City controlled the game and looked dangerous at every attack.
The Springett and Kamara link-up was finally rewarded in stoppage time, as the number 10 flew down the right wing, crossed over to the number 9 who netted the winner.
