Norwich City are delighted to announce that Kenny McLean has signed a new contract until 2026, with the option of a further year.
The Scottish international has made 182 Norwich City appearances in total, including six this season, and has worn the captain’s armband for the Canaries in the absence of Grant Hanley.
Speaking to Canaries.co.uk upon signing his new contract, he said: “I’ve been here five years now; this is my sixth. Extending that a lot further is something I’m very happy to be doing and thankful that the club want to do it as well.
“Everybody speaks about this being a family club and it really is, and I’m raising a young family here now and it’s perfect for us, and that helps you on the pitch if you’re settled off the pitch.
“I’ve had the honour to wear the armband for this club while Grant’s absent. It’s something I’ve always tried to take on, a lot of responsibility.
“I’ve had success at this club with a couple of promotions by winning the league and I’m desperate for more. That’s why I want to be here as I know we’ve got that same goal and same ambition.”
Sporting director Stuart Webber added: "We're all delighted that Kenny has committed his long-term future to Norwich City.
"Kenny was the subject of strong interest from other clubs over the most recent transfer window but stayed professional throughout, leading the team in Grant's absence.
"We look forward to Kenny continuing to drive standards alongside our other senior players, as we look to achieve our goals and have more special years together."
