London Seaward denied Norwich of all three points after scoring from a last-minute corner in a competitive 2-2 draw at The Nest.
City named an unchanged starting 11 for the fourth consecutive game, but saw familiar faces return to the bench in Millie Daviss, Kathryn Stanley, and Freya Symonds.
In typical Norwich fashion this season, City got off to an energetic start with Smith forcing a double save from the Seaward keeper inside six minutes.
Eventually, the mounting pressure from Seaward began to show some cracks, in what has been a formidable City defence so far this season.
On the 22-minute mark the London side found themselves one-on-one with Bryony Williams who was off her line in a flash to make an unbelievable, smothering save from close-range.
Minutes later and the City defence was breached again. A lovely move down the right-hand side allowed Suzy Davies to find some space on the edge of the area, before firing home off the left post from just outside the 18-yard box.
City had to respond before half-time and through new signing Alice Parker, they did. Seconds before the interval, Norwich received a free kick on the left-wing. Parker curled in a delightful cross through a crowd of bodies, that snuck its way into the net without intervention.
The second half got underway with the away side looking the livelier of the two sides.
Bryony Williams was forced into some more miracles, denying Seaward from just inches out after a low-driven ball across the face of goal. Moments later and another cross caused troubles for City, but this time the woodwork came to the Canaries’ aid.
Some second half substitutions for Norwich spurred a change of energy and pace. In the 84th minute, a superb flurry of one-touch passes between Stanley, Symonds and Snelling saw the latter notch her seventh goal in four games, firing home a first-time finish from just inside the box.
A sizable chunk of injury time was added on by the referee due to an earlier knock to Snelling, and London Seaward used this time to full advantage.
Two minutes past regulation time and the London side converted from a corner to tie the game and snatch a point before the final whistle.
City will get a taste of cup action next, when they travel to Wealdstone on Sunday, September 11 to take on Watford in the determining round of the FA WNL Cup.
