Everyone at Norwich City Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our former manager, Laurence 'Lol' Morgan, at the age of 90.
Lol was born in Rotherham and played as a defender for Huddersfield Town, Rotherham United and Darlington in a playing career spanning 17 years between 1949 and 1966.
Lol took over the Canaries as manager shortly after retiring from playing and enjoyed three years at the helm of the club, before departing in 1969.
His most memorable moment as manager came in 1967, when his Second Division City side stunned Manchester United in the FA Cup at Old Trafford, triumphing in a 2-1 win.
Everyone at the club's thoughts are with Lol's family and friends at this very sad time.
