Norwich City Under-23's midfielder Liam Gibbs played a big part in the dominant midfield line after City’s 4-0 win over Middlesbrough on Friday.
After a slow start, City took Middlesbrough by storm as they put four past the Reds and could have had more, to making four wins in five games.
“We took 15/20 minutes to get into it, but after that we took control and we took our chances. We could have scored a few more but overall it was a good performance and we’re all happy in the changing room.
“We came out with a vengeance today. We mentioned in the team talk before about losing to them last time, but we went out, tried to be aggressive from the start, which obviously we weren’t but then once we were, we were able to dominate.”
Christoph Zimmermann managed to get more minutes in the tank during the game, playing the full 90 for the Under-23s.
“It’s really good having a player like him in the team, he's a big leader in the first team so when he comes to us it really helps. He’s so organised and we love having him.”
The three points mean City push further away from third-place West Bromwich Albion, but still have a 17 point gap behind league leaders Fulham.
“I think we’re really pushing for that promotion place now, we just need to finish off as strong as we played tonight. The four goals were important and we’re really happy with the clean sheet - we haven't had many this season and hopefully we can get some more.”
