Loan Round-Up: Ahadme can’t stop scoring!

Norwich City striker Gassan Ahadme has joined Sky Bet League One side Burton Albion on a permanent deal.

Norwich City loanee Gassan Ahadme has now scored eight goals in four games for Portsmouth during pre-season.

The young forward featured twice for Pompey last week, scoring a header and a penalty in their 3-3 draw at Bristol City on Tuesday, and the equaliser at Luton Town in a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Josip Drmic added two goals to his name with a brace of headers as HNK Rijeka beat Istra 1961 2-0 on Sunday to go second in the 1. HNL with six points from six so far.

He also started Wednesday’s 2-0 win away to Gzira United in qualifying for the Europa Conference League.

In Scotland’s Premier Sports Cup, goalkeeper Daniel Barden played 90 minutes on his competitive debut for Livingston on Saturday as they beat Cowdenbeath 3-1 to finish second in Group D on eight points and advance to the last 16.

They’ve been drawn at home to St. Mirren, with the tie scheduled to take place across the weekend of August 14 and 15.

Elsewhere, Inverness Caledonian Thistle were knocked out of the tournament following defeats to Cove Rangers and Heart of Midlothian, Reece McAlear playing 90 minutes in each game.

Josh Martin got a combined total of 92 minutes for Milton Keynes Dons in pre-season last week, as they beat Coventry City 7-1 at St. George’s Park before losing 3-1 to Bristol City.

Meanwhile, Akin Famewo played 62 minutes of Charlton Athletic’s 1-1 draw at Reading.

FC Porto B beat Extremadura 3-0 and Badajoz 1-0 to win the Luis Bermejo Trophy, Sebastian Soto coming on as a second-half substitute in both games.

Bury Town beat Lakenheath 6-1 on Tuesday and drew 1-1 at home to Colchester United Under-23s on Saturday, Academy goalkeeper Sam Blair featuring in both games.

In Iceland, Isak Thorvaldsson played 81 minutes of Sunday’s 3-0 defeat at home to Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar as IA Akranes remained bottom of the Úrvalsdeild.
