Norwich City loanee Dan Adshead made his first start for Gillingham in front of a home crowd in a 2-1 win over Morecambe on Saturday.
The midfielder’s debut came just two days after making the season-long move to the Gills, playing 51 minutes before being substituted off.
Elsewhere, Sebastian Soto scored his first goal in his third appearance for Porto B. The forward found the back of the net for Porto’s only goal before coming off in the 70th minute in the Portuguese side’s 1-1 draw with Nacional.
Josip Drmic continued his goalscoring form over in Croatia, coming on in the 52nd minute and scoring a penalty just 12 minutes later. That spot-kick was the striker’s fourth goal in four league appearances for the side, also making him top scorer in the 1. HNL.
Back in the Football League, Akin Famewo notched 180 minutes over the week as he played out a 2-1 loss to MK Dons and a 2-0 loss to Wigan Athletic. Josh Martin was an unused sub against the Addicks for the Dons but came on for 20 mins against Ipswich Town on the weekend.
Meanwhile, striker Gassan Ahadme got 135 minutes in the tank as he came on as a half time substitute against Shrewsbury Town and played all 90 minutes in a 0-0 draw against Doncaster Rovers.
Heading to Iceland, Isak Thorvaldsson played all 90 minutes in IA Akranes 2-1 loss to Breiðablik on Wednesday.
FA Cup first round action began for Sam Blair and Bury Town on Saturday, the young ‘keeper keeping a clean sheet in their 1-0 win to progress to the second round.
In the National League North, Matthew Dennis made a cameo appearance for Southend United in their 1-0 win over King’s Lynn Town, the striker coming on in the 79th minute.
