Norwich City loanee Danel Sinani impressed with his first kick of a ball for Huddersfield Town in their penalty shootout win over Sheffield Wednesday.
The forward came on in the 90th minute for the shootout against the Owls, calmly finishing his spot kick as the Terriers 4-2 penalty win saw them progress through to round two of the Carabao Cup.
Josip Drmic continued his scoring streak in the 1. HNL as he found the back of the net in HNK Rijeka’s 3-3 draw with Dinamo Zagreb on Sunday. The forward gave Rijeka the lead before half time, coming off in the 79th minute as they shared the points with the Croatian champions.
In Charlton Athletic’s pre-season preparations, Akin Famewo notched 135 minutes over two games for the Addicks in their 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace and 1-0 loss to Fulham.
The centre-half started both games against the London clubs, coming off at half time against the Eagles.
Heading north to the Scottish Premiership, midfielder Reece McAlear continued getting time on the pitch as he played all 90 minutes in Livingston’s 1-0 win over Arbroath in their first game of the season.
Meanwhile, Bury Town took another pre-season win as they beat Needham Market 3-1 in their final friendly before the season begins, with Sam Blair featuring for all 90 minutes.
Finally, Josh Martin made another two appearances for MK Dons over the week, coming on as a substitute against both Tottenham Hotspur and AFC Bournemouth in their pre-season friendlies.
