Queens Park Rangers caused one of the Carabao Cup’s midweek upsets as they beat Everton at Loftus Road on Tuesday night.
Norwich City loanee Sam McCallum was involved for the first 66 minutes of the match, which was drawn 2-2 in normal time.
Mark Warburton’s side won 8-7 on penalties to advance to the fourth round of the competition.
Meanwhile, Daniel Adshead played the first half of Gillingham’s 1-1 draw at home to Charlton Athletic. Akin Famewo was an unused substitute for the visitors.
Gillingham are now 19th in League One with seven points from eight games.
