Norwich City announced the signing of Chile international midfielder Marcelino Núñez on Tuesday evening.

canaries.co.uk: Marcelino, welcome to Norwich City Football Club. How do you feel to be here?
MN: “I’m really happy to have arrived here and I’m just excited to get started.”
canaries.co.uk: When did you first learn of the interest from Norwich?
MN: “So there was a conversation with myself, my representatives and the directors at Norwich and it was actually after the São Paulo game that we had when we spoke, they showed me the objectives and the project and I loved it.”
canaries.co.uk: You’re the first Norwich player that we’ve signed who is from Chile. Does that make it extra special?
MN: “Yeah, I’m so happy with the welcome I’ve received. I’m really happy and excited to get started.”
canaries.co.uk: What is it about this club that made you want to choose Norwich as the next step in your career?
MN: “Like I said, I had a conversation with the directors here at Norwich and they presented their ideas to me and what they had in store for me and I was really happy with it.”
canaries.co.uk: Now that you’ve looked around the training ground facilities, what are your first impressions of this place?
MN: “Well I was initially shown pictures of it on an iPad, but now that I’ve seen it in person, I’ve fallen in love with it. With the gym and all of the services that are here, I’m just excited to start.”
canaries.co.uk: What type of player are you and what can we expect to see from you in a Norwich shirt?
MN: “What do I see myself as? Well, I like to get into the box, I like to go for goal. I like to play in set-plays and be involved in and outside of the box.”
canaries.co.uk: You’ve got experience playing in the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana as well as for the Chile national team. What was it like to get those experiences?
MN: “It’s really been a dream to have those experiences and be part of the national team and it’s helped me in my career. Now I’m here at Norwich, I have my objectives and I want to achieve everything that I can with the club.”
canaries.co.uk: How excited are you to play at Carrow Road in front of the Norwich fans for the first time?
MN: “Yes, I’m super excited for it and I’m also looking forward to getting to know my colleagues out on the pitch.”
