Norwich City cruised to an impressive 3-0 friendly win against Olympique de Marseille at Stade Parsemain on Saturday afternoon, Jacob Sørensen opening the scoring and Jordan Hugill netting two headers.

After Tim Krul showed good reflexes to deny Matteo Guendouzi at close range, it didn't take long for City to find their groove.

Sørensen crashed the ball into the top right corner from the edge of the 18-yard box inside nine minutes to put us in front.

Marseille came closest during the first half when Dimitri Payet fizzed a dangerous looking ball across the face of goal, but Krul got down to his left to push it away.

Leading 1-0 at the break, Dean Smith made five changes with Angus Gunn, Grant Hanley, Christoph Zimmermann, Dimitris Giannoulis and Hugill coming on for Krul, Andrew Omobamidele, Ben Gibson, Sam McCallum and Josh Sargent.

The home side almost responded straight away as Pape Gueye unleashed a powerful strike towards goal from distance, but Gunn got across to his left to make the save.

Milot Rashica ought to have made it 2-0 when a loose back pass gave him the ball in a promising area, but the Kosovan struck into the side netting.

Giannoulis did well to find Danel Sinani on the counter-attack moments later, the latter cutting inside from the right wing and curling wide of the far post.

City then doubled their lead in simple fashion. A Kenny McLean-led counter-attack forced Marseille to concede a throw-in, which Sinani took quickly. On the right wing, Rashica crossed in for Hugill to head into the back of the net.

More changes were made with 20 minutes to go, Teemu Pukki, Pierre Lees-Melou, Liam Gibbs, Christos Tzolis, Jonathan Tomkinson and Onel Hernandez all coming on as McLean, Todd Cantwell, Max Aarons, Sørensen, Sinani and Rashica made way.

With five minutes remaining, Hernandez put in a similar cross from the right wing which Hugill again duly dispatched to make it 3-0.
