Our match preview reports how the Clarets have performed so far this season, the officials in charge, and provides important information for fans.
It’s been a difficult start to life in the Premier League for Sean Dyche’s side in 2021/22 since opening day defeat at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.
A 2-0 loss away to Liverpool was followed by Carabao Cup victory over Newcastle United via penalties, before a 1-1 draw with Leeds United wrapped up August.
In September, Burnley lost 3-1 against Everton at Goodison Park and were beaten 1-0 at home to Arsenal.
They did advance to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a 4-1 win at home to Rochdale and have most recently drawn 2-2 away to Leicester City.
Those results put Burnley two points and one place ahead of Norwich prior to Saturday’s fixture.
There have been 43 meetings between Norwich and Burnley since 1934, resulting in 15 Norwich wins, 21 Burnley wins and seven draws.
Our previous visit to Turf Moor came in the fourth round of the FA Cup in January 2020, as goals from Josip Drmic and Grant Hanley secured the Canaries’ progress in a 2-1 win.
Kevin Friend has been appointed to take charge of Saturday's game, Adrian Holmes and Eddie Smart his assistants and Tony Harrington the fourth official. Craig Pawson is on VAR with Simon Beck his assistant.
Friend's previous involvement in a Norwich game was for July 2020's 2-0 defeat at home to Burnley, when Emi Buendia and Josip Drmic were both sent off.
