Norwich City Under-18s will begin the second half of the 2021/22 campaign with a trip to Crystal Palace Under-18s at 12.30pm on Saturday.
The Canaries lost their last game before Christmas 2-0 at home to West Ham United U18s, while Palace beat Tottenham Hotspur U18s 3-0.
City remain bottom of the U18 Premier League South with just three points, while Palace are fourth with 21.
Ayyuba Jambang is among those to be playing his first season in the U18 PL for Norwich, and is looking forward to putting lessons learned to use in the second half of the campaign.
“We’ve had a tough start to the beginning of the season,” he said. “I think there were a lot of lessons to learn and it’s good to take that into the new year and hopefully build on where we left off from the West Ham game.
“We want to have a tougher mentality going into games, a more ruthless attitude when doing the basics like tackling, and passing the ball with more conviction in the stuff that we do.
“I do see a different intensity now. More people want to go at it and the sessions are lively, which is good going into the first game of the new year.
“It’s my first time in full-time football with the 18s. There’s still a lot to learn but I’ve improved my game a lot since the beginning of the season, so hopefully I can build on that.
“The coaches have had a lot belief in helping me progress through. Playing for Norwich, you have to show a lot of pride, especially in the bad moments. That’s the main quality I’ve learned playing for this team.”
