Norwich City’s Under-18s are back in Premier League Cup action as they face Middlesbrough Under-18s away from home at 11am on Saturday.
The Canaries are currently bottom of Group E following defeats against Sunderland U18s and Brighton and Hove Albion U18s, while Middlesbrough have collected four points.
Meanwhile in the U18 Premier League South, City remain at the bottom of the table with just three points after last weekend’s 7-0 defeat at Leicester City U18s.
Middlesbrough are eighth in the U18 Premier League North with 12 points from eight games, most recently beating Liverpool U18s 4-3 away from home.
Norwich City U18s captain Brad Hills described last week’s result as a big learning curve for his side.
“The lads know we are a good team and have shown it with results last year, but it’s just the confidence at the minute,” he said. “We’ve got to get out of that stage and start playing with a bit more belief in each other.
“We’ve been working on the basics, getting things right and going back to what we’re good at.
“Middlesbrough look good and we’ve seen what they like to do and how we’re going to exploit them. We’re in for a good test, but we’re up for it and have a point to prove.”
Hills has played seven out of nine league games at centre-back so far this season, and is pleased to be getting more experience regularly.
“I had a tough start to the season with an injury and Covid, but now I’m fully fit and playing every week, so hopefully I carry on doing what I do best,” he said.
