Match preview: Norwich City U23s v Nottingham Forest U23s

Norwich City’s Under-23s host Nottingham Forest Under-23s at Carrow Road for Friday night’s Premier League 2 Division Two fixture (7pm KO).

The game is free for fans to attend and there is no need to book tickets.

Alan Neilson’s side were held to a 2-2 draw at Newcastle United U23s last Friday, the Canaries twice equalising thanks to goals from Tom Dickson-Peters and Flynn Clarke.

The result left Norwich seventh in the league with four wins, two draws, and four defeats. City have scored and conceded 23 goals to earn 14 points so far. Four other teams also have 14 points.

Nottingham Forest drew their last game 2-2 at home to West Bromwich Albion U23s on Monday night.

Dickson-Peters, who has seven goals and three assists in ten games for Norwich this season, said: “We played well against Newcastle. We could have done better, but we’re still learning as a team.

“We’re still scoring goals, so that’s a positive to take. I’m enjoying it right now and scoring a few goals and can’t really complain.

“If we all play well against Forest like we know we can, then we should get a good result. When we’re at our best, it’s hard to beat us.

“It could be a close game, it depends on the day. If we’re at it then we should be getting the win.

“We have to up our running intensity a little bit. We have slacked off a bit in the last couple of games. If we can get into people, press and win back the ball - it’s that work off the ball we want to show.

“Last time at Carrow Road, there were a lot of people and it was a nice atmosphere. The fans are really good as it’s a 23s game and there’s still a decent number coming out, so I’m looking forward to it.”
