Norwich City return to action at Carrow Road on Sunday, January 8 (KO 2pm), in an Emirates FA Cup fixture against Blackburn Rovers in a third consecutive home game.
The Canaries are looking to pick up a win in the cup this weekend, starting a refreshed run of form following just one win and one draw in the last five matches.
Both sides will compete in the 2022/23 FA Cup for the first time, having been automatically included in the draw going into the third round.
The Opposition
Jon Dahl Tomasson's side make their second visit to Carrow Road in as many months, after taking a 2-0 win from the Canaries on their recent trip to Norfolk.
Blackburn's recent run of form sees them with two wins and three losses in the last five league matches, which leaves them in third place in the Sky Bet Championship, nine points behind second-placed Sheffield United.
The Lancashire-based side's most recent cup action resulted in a 4-1 loss to Premier League side Nottingham Forest at Ewood Park in the EFL Cup round of 16. The result came as a disappointment to Rovers, having equalised on the brink of half-time.
The previous round of the EFL Cup was one that Rovers fans would not soon forget, as over 2,000 fans made the trip to the London Stadium back in November. The visitors ran out winners on the night after goals from Jack Vale and Ben Brereton Díaz made it 2-2 just minutes from time and after 19 penalties, Angelo Ogbonna's miss sent Blackburn through with the win.
Head-to-head
In 48 meetings between the two sides from 1912, City have come out on top in 15 of those matches, with Blackburn winning 20 and 13 resulting in draws.
Only three of these meetings have been FA Cup fixtures, include the first time the two sides met but with the most recent in 1966. Blackburn have won two of these and the third ended in a draw.
