Norwich City are back at home on Saturday, October 8, with Preston North End the visitors to Carrow Road (KO 3pm).
Tuesday night’s draw away at Reading sees the Canaries remain second behind leaders Sheffield United, with the Blades only ahead on goal difference.
Victory against Ryan Lowe’s side would see the club extend their unbeaten run in the league to 10 games.
The opposition
The Lilywhites have had an interesting campaign so far. They’ve been hard to beat, having drawn seven of their first 12 games, six of which were goalless.
They’ve only conceded four goals this season, but only have only scored four times too, meaning their goal difference sits at 0.
Lowe’s side were in action on Wednesday day, as West Bromwich Albion visited Deepdale, with Emil Riis scoring in a 1-0 Preston win.
The win last night was Preston's third of the campaign, having recorded wins over Luton Town and Coventry City in August.
Head-to-head
There have been 56 games between the two sides since 1961, with the Canaries winning 21 times. Preston have recorded 17 wins, and 18 ties have ended in draws.
The last meeting between the two sides was in April 2021, with the game ending 1-1. Emi Buendia put the Canaries ahead, before a late equaliser from Brad Potts meant the points were shared.
Norwich have only lost once to Preston in their previous eight fixtures, the run has seen the Canaries pick up three wins and four draws.
Ref watch
Dean Whitehouse will be refereeing the game, assisted by Mark Russell and Andrew Aylott. The fourth official is Stephen Martin.
