Norwich City Women, top of The FA Women’s National League Division One South East, welcome Actonians Ladies to The Nest on Sunday (2pm KO) for what promises to be a carnival atmosphere for our first home game of the season.
We beat Cambridge United 4-1 last weekend thanks to Natasha Snelling’s hat-trick and a goal from Ellie Smith.
As for Actonians, their opening match was abandoned in the 68th minute due to a neck injury suffered by Molly O’Reilly.
Previewing Sunday’s game, City head coach Shaun Howes said: “I’m really excited. It has been a long but successful pre-season and I am excited for our supporters to see the squad we have and the progress they have made since our last competitive game.
“The squad is in a really good place, the new players have fit in perfectly. I was so proud of the girls following the Cambridge game, as I think the result reflected the the effort and application they put in through the whole game.
“We have now set our standard for the season and hopefully we can get a good crowd to the game on Sunday to see the hard work they have all put in. They deserve to play in front of big crowds.”
Tickets will be available at The Nest for Sunday’s game and can be bought with card only.

Gates open one hour before kick-off and all seating is unreserved. Car parking is on a first come first served basis. Toilet facilities are available and the café will be open to purchase refreshments.
