Norwich City Women make their return to Carrow Road on Thursday, August 29, in the determining round of the FAWNL Cup (KO 7.45pm).
Following an unbeaten start to City's first two league games, Andy Cook's side will be hoping to put on a promising performance in the first East Anglian derby for four years.
The winner of tonight's fixture will progress to round one of the cup competition and the losing team will be entered into the FAWNL Plate competition.
The Opposition
Thursday evening's visitors have spent three seasons in the Southern Premier Division, with second place their best finish during the 2022/23 season. They had finished on the same points as promoted side Watford, narrowly missing out on goal difference.
Their 2024/25 campaign has started perfectly, leaving them in third place following two wins and two clean sheets. Town beat Oxford United 3-0 in the season opener, and Hashtag United 2-0 the next week on home turf.
Sophie Peskett has three goals to her name already with Lucy O'Brien scoring the other two.
Joe Sheehan's Blues made it all the way to the quarter final of last year’s FAWNL Cup, losing out in extra-time to Portsmouth, who would go on to win the Southern Premier Division title later that season.
Last Time Out
The most recent meeting between these two sides took place at The Nest in November 2020 in round one of the Women's FA Cup, before the Tractor Girls were promoted to Tier 3.
Town ran out 3-1 winners, with City scoring the only goal of the second half thanks to a brilliant Ellie Smith run of play and a tidy finish from Keunna Dill.
Eloise King, Peskett and Paige Laure Peake were on the scoresheet for the Blues.
