Alan Neilson's side are second in PL2 with 38 points. With three games remaining, they need to finish at least fifth to compete in the play-offs.
Southampton are currently fifth, five points behind Norwich, while Wolverhampton Wanderers and Stoke City in third and fourth both have two games in hand.
City got back to winning ways with an impressive 4-0 win away to Stoke City last Friday night.
As for Sunderland, they're 12th in the division with 20 points and have lost each of their last five games.
Last time we met was at the end of August 2021, when Jonathan Tomkinson's 90th minute goal secured a 4-3 win for Norwich at the Academy of Light.
