Last season, we entered the competition in the second round, where we beat AFC Bournemouth 6-0 at home, before being eliminated in the third round by Liverpool.
The opposition
With a 0-0 draw at Luton Town and a 2-1 win at home to Huddersfield Town, Birmingham have picked up four points out of six so far this season.
Norwich loanee Przemysław Płacheta scored his first goal for the Blues in that win against the Terriers on Friday.
Last season, Birmingham made it through the first round of the Carabao Cup with a 1-0 win against Colchester United, but were knocked out by Fulham in the second round.

In the 72 meetings between Norwich and Birmingham since 1963, there have been 26 Norwich wins, 23 Birmingham wins and 23 draws.
Last time we met was in February 2021, when Teemu Pukki's brace and a 95th minute goal from Oliver Skipp secured a 3-1 win at St Andrew's.
Birmingham's previous visit to Carrow Road came in October 2020, Mario Vrančić scoring the only goal of the game in the 87th minute.
