Norwich City host Premier League leaders Manchester City at Carrow Road on Saturday evening (5.30pm KO).
The Canaries will be looking to build on the good form in 2022 which has seen the club win four games from six matches.
The opposition
Manchester City will be a tough opponent on Saturday as they have won 17 of their last 19 matches in all competitions.
They currently boast the best defensive record in the league having only conceded 14 times in 24 games, while their attacking output – 57 goals in 24 matches – is only bettered by Liverpool.
The club, who have a 12 point lead at the top of the table, have not lost in the league since late October when goals from Wilfried Zaha and Conor Gallagher gave Crystal Palace a 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium.
The goals are also shared across the team with Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling all topping their scoring chart in the Premier League with seven goals each.
Head-to-head
Norwich City won the last meeting between the two teams at Carrow Road when goals from Kenny McLean and Todd Cantwell saw the Canaries race into a two-goal lead. Sergio Agüero pulled a goal back but then Teemu Pukki added a third for City on 50 minutes and, despite a late goal from Rodrí, Norwich collected the three points.
Norwich have a good recent record against the Citizens at Carrow Road, drawing the two league encounters prior to 2019. The last Premier League defeat to City at Carrow Road came in December 2012 when two goals from Edin Džeko, another strike from Agüero, and an own goal from Mark Bunn gave Roberto Mancini's side a 4-3 win.
In total, Manchester City have won 31 of the 61 league encounters between the two sides and they also have the upper hand in terms of FA Cup and League Cup encounters.
Referee watch
Andre Marriner has been appointed as the matchday official for Saturday's game. His assistants are Richard West and Scott Ledger, with the fourth official being Tony Harrington and Paul Tierney on VAR alongside Simon Bennett.
Marriner was the referee the last time Manchester City lost in the league, against Crystal Palace in October, and he sent off Aymeric Laporte in that match.
