The Sky Bet Championship is back and Norwich City will travel to Oxford for the first game of the season on Saturday, August 10 (KO 12.30pm).
The newly-promoted side will host City to start off the new championship campaign, the sides meeting again for the first time in over 25 years.
A win in this fixture would be an ideal start to life under new head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup for City.
**The Opposition**
Last season, manager Des Buckingham returned to Oxford, helping them to the League One play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
Oxford managed to beat Bolton Wanderers 2-0 on the day, securing them promotion to the Championship this season. Both goals were scored by Josh Murphy who is a product of the Norwich City Academy. He made a summer move to Portsmouth who were also promoted.
Przemyslaw Placheta is another name to look out for as the Polish winger who departed Carrow Road in January has now joined up with Oxford.

Further roles followed in Australia and India before he returned to Oxford on a long-term contract in November 2023, leading the League One side to promotion.
