Norwich City’s second pre-season fixture of the 2022/23 campaign takes place at the ASV Grassau Sportspark in Grassau, Germany tomorrow (1pm BST KO).
After a 4-0 win over Dereham Town last week, City look to challenge themselves ahead of the 2022/23 Sky Bet Championship campaign against the Bundesliga second division side.
About the opposition
SSV Jahn Regensburg, also known as SSV, Jahn or Red Shorts, established themselves in 2. Bundesliga from the 2017/18 season, after a series of relegations and play-off promotions in previous seasons.
The Red Shorts finished the 2021/22 campaign in 15th, 12 points clear of the relegation zone, but only one place above relegated side Dynamo Dresden.
Tomorrow’s fixture against City is SSV’s final pre-season fixture and the first time the two sides have ever come head-to-head.
The German side will be looking to add to their pre-season goal tally of 16, after a goalless draw last week against 3. Liga side Bayreuth.
SSV play SV Darmstadt in the first 2. Bundesliga fixture, on Saturday, July 16, as the club look to rebuild ready for their sixth consecutive season in the second division.
